Yr 10 PREP: PLAYING WITH PHOTOSHOP: ADVERTISEMENT

Open PhotoShop. Create a new canvas (your base layer) in your chosen size (International, A4, pick dimensions for Landscape or portrait). Name your file.

To import your chosen background onto your base canvas: File> Open then copy Command C, then return to the base canvas and do Paste Command V.

To adjust its size: Edit> Transform

To add your perfume bottle: File> Open (I had named my bottle to make it easy to find)

Then use the Quick Selection tool. Start in the centre of the bottle and gently nudge the selection line towards the edges of your bottle outline. Use Edit> Step Backwards if you push too far. The image below shows the selection tool at the neck of the bottle, as I am about to push the line gently upwards to select the bottle cap.
To copy the selected part of the image onto your background:
Command C, then return to the base canvas and do Paste Command V.

To move it: use the move tool (top tool that is grey in the image above)

To adjust its size: Edit> Transform. I changed it from an upright egg to a wide egg (above)
