The media department has arranged a trip to The British Film Institute at the South Bank to attend a study day in support of their OCR GCSE examination The Action Adventure Genre. It will be delivered by Elaine Scarratt, OCR Examiner for Media Studies.
Using the BFI’s extensive archive collection of clips, the day will cover the codes and conventions of the action adventure with a detailed focus on the language of moving image. The day will include genre conventions, narrative features, character types, representations and related issues. It will end with a film screening. This will be a very valuable study day.
