Year 10 BFI TV COMEDY STUDY DAY

Our GCSE media students enjoyed a challenging study day at the British Film Institute on Friday 3rd February, learning about the UK’s different television channel identities, how they commission briefs and the decisions behind scheduling practices.Fascinating insights into how channels define, attract and retain their target audiences were offered by Claire Pollard, media specialist and OCR examiner, who explained how audiences were targeted. She covered a wide range of case studies, perfect for the forthcoming examination, and sent the pupils away with a pack of helpful notes. Amongst other informative and entertaining insights into television comedy was a presentation by Alex Horne, creator and co-host of Taskmaster, who introduced a screening of his show and finished with a Q and A session.
