EXAM PRACTICE

We analyse the film language in a short AA extract The Raid 2 in the prison scene. We notice
  • camerawork tracking shots, focus pulls, close ups, extreme close ups, tracking shots, pan, POV, high angle shot, wide shot
  • editing motivated edit, fast-paced, slow-paced, sound and vision editing, slowmo
  • mise-en-scene realistic lighting, prison compound, mud, rain
  • sound diegetic sound: bones breaking; non-diegetic sound: orchestral sound, rhythmic sounds
We look at a tutorial on using quadrants creatively to create interesting framing using as a case study Drive (2001). The tutorial is Every Frame A Painting

PREP We go over the written homework sheet on audience pleasures in QI. Fill in your answers on your sheet, adding more paper if you run out. Answer precisely and concisely.
